About Us

Atomic Events originally launched to great aplomb in March of 2007, by Michele who works for a blue chip city co, and Stephen, who has over 30 years experience in media design & marketing, as a swing dance club harking back to days long gone, of higher etiquette and social values. The war aside, the 20th Century was a golden period; Hollywood; British Theatre; Modernism; Couturier; and of course the evolution of American popular music. As the year progressed, we successfully launched “Vintage Vogue” to compliment the dances. The fairs have grown so fast, that we had to move to our current venue to accommodate the amount of stall holders as well as the larger numbers of the public to come along.

Market forces have changed during this time as well as the economy, and so we decided to concentrate on our growing fairs and revised the format to it's current incarnation. However, we are always looking to find ways in which we can improve our product to give both traders and the public the best experience. Located in Brentwood, on the West side of Essex, our venue is the Sports Centre complex of the famous 'Brentwood preparatory and public school'. Amongst its pupils down the years include Jack Straw; Cliff Richard; Noel Edmonds and Frank Lampard. A ground floor venue, it has ample parking for customers, traders own secure parking area and its own Bar/Café. Plus, our now famous 'Radio Vintage Vogue', playing the coolest Jazz, R&B and Lounge from the twentieth Century.

Since it's inception, markets have changed and vintage has risen from being an interest to a certain social subculture to a a major commercial interest. Vintage is not only cool, but it has freshened up the high street. What once started as just an interest in clothes and dances has broadened into widespread interest in vintage lifestyle. People now want to experience the lifestyles of the the 20th entury, the values and social etiquette. Of course, there are number of small pretenders and copy cats that have risen around the essex countyside, but there is only one Vintage Vogue. The Fair is open to entrepreneurs, traders, collectors and just about anyone who has an interest in vintage and vintage inspired clothing, fashion accessories and fashion-related items covering the period 1920's to the 1970's. We encourage those who offer newly made vintage inspired (often referred to as 'retro') merchandise to participate, including hats, knitwear, shoes and lingerie and also feature specialists offering vintage style hair and makeup. So don't follow the sheep to the high street, come and sample something fresh. Come to Vintage Vogue.
